Charly Kayle, co-host of the “Mike, Jim & Charly” morning show on 96.3 FM KKLZ, has been named to the board of directors of The Poppy Foundation of Las Vegas, a 501(c)(3) charity that cares for abandoned, abused & chronically ill animals, housed at Bonanza Cat Hospital, at W. Lake Mead & N. Buffalo, Las Vegas. Kayle has a lifelong passion for animals, in the past sharing her home with ferrets, lop-eared rabbits and a prairie dog. She and her significant other, Gus Stone, are currently parents to a shelter-adopted German shepherd puppy and four rescue cats. In fact, Marco the Man Cat has been known to predict sporting events on the air on KKLZ, with 100 percent accuracy in correctly guessing the winners of the past four Super Bowl games!
Donna Marcou-Stafford has been hired as vice president of leisure sales for Tropicana Las Vegas. Marcou-Stafford is responsible for the overall production of leisure sales in domestic, international, travel agent, consortia and OTA/Internet markets. She also works on promoting the brand, food and beverage and entertainment for Tropicana Las Vegas. Marcou-Stafford has held memberships with several professional organizations.

Anita Mann is the producer of the adult revue, FANTASY at Luxor. Now in its 11th successful year on the Las Vegas Strip, FANTASY has been featured on “Good Day L.A.,” and Oxygen Network’s “The Bad Girls Club.” Mann has been honored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences as one of America’s top five contemporary choreographers. She is also the recipient of six Emmy nominations and two Emmys. Danielle Duffey is the owner of Silvermoon Graphic Design. Along with operating her business, Duffey has created and speaks about a Life List which she started in 2005 after watching an episode of Ellen. She was inspired and created a list which is always changing since Duffey lives her list. One of the items on her list was to complete a marathon. Duffey has completed 15 half marathons and 2 full marathons. Duffey also listed finding her soul mate (which she has) and get married. Another item on her list is a river rafting trip which she plans to complete in August. Duffey tells women (and men) that staying focused on her list has created a much richer and fulfilling life.
Nancy Dimaio is the director of spa and fitness for The Spa at Ravella, located at Las Vegas’ newest resort, Ravella at Lake Las Vegas. Dimaio works to incorporate botanical essences from several Mediterranean regions. As director of spa and fitness, Dimaio oversees all aspects of Ravella’s health and well-being complex and serves as a key member of Ravella’s strategic team. In her spare time, Dimaio is a member of the advisory council for the Build On Hope Foundation.
Lady “J” Huston & The Fireballs starring Lady “J” Huston is currently playing at a number of venues around Las Vegas. Huston is an entertainer, vocalist, trumpeter and recording artist who first toured with Albert King, and has appeared with B.B. King and Etta James. Huston received the BMA music awards (2009, 2010), appeared in “America’s Got Talent” finale, and is an advocate for raising awareness with her musical ministry for lupus and fibromyalgia.

Hannah Brook was named acting executive director for The Rape Crisis Center, where she will manage the center’s numerous community outreach, volunteer and prevention programs, along with her current fundraising duties. She has been active in the Las Vegas community for many years; Brook is a graduate of Leadership Henderson, class of 2011, the PR chairperson for Guns & Hoses, and a volunteer with PAYBAC. She is currently attending the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Citizens Academy.

Candace Maddin is the co-founder and president of Create A Change Now, a Las Vegas-based nonprofit that fights childhood obesity by planting edible gardens in local at-risk schools. Rebecca Thomas is a local film producer and director. After having her short “Nobody Knows You, Nobody Gives a Damn” in the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, she spent two years pursuing her masters in film directing at Columbia University in New York City. This August, Thomas will begin to film her first feature movie, set mainly in Las Vegas and parts of Southern Utah. The film, titled “Electrick Children,” is centered on a young girl who lives in a polygamist colony in Southern Utah. Upon discovering a forbidden cassette tape, the girl decides to run away and finds herself in Las Vegas. The film deals with femininity and how to take your life into your own hands as a female. Thomas intends to show the real side of Las Vegas, not just the glitz and glamour of the strip.
MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Executive Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy was recently honored as ESPN 1100 AM/98.9 FM’s 2011 Sportsperson of the Year. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Kunzer-Murphy has been a fixture in the Southern Nevada sports community for four decades. Kunzer-Murphy has held positions at the University of Pacific and director of corporate sales and marketing for the Las Vegas 51s and Thunder professional franchises. Nevada Public Radio announced the hiring of Lisa Kelly and Brittany Ives as development associates. In their positions, Kelly and Ives are responsible for assisting with all fundraising activities and supporting donor and membership services. Prior to joining Nevada Public Radio, these two women gained experience in diverse industries and developed key skills for their new positions at Nevada Public Radio. Kelly served as marketing project manager for Card Player Media and SpadeClub.com (an online sweepstakes poker site). Ives was an assistant manager at Laser Quest where she oversaw the marketing, customer relations and training/coaching of staff.
Carla Pellegrino recently opened Bacio by Carla Pellegrino in the Tropicana Las Vegas, a trattoria specializing in authentic Italian cuisine. Pellegrino was born in Rio de Janeiro to a Portuguese father and an Italian mother and by the age of 10, she was cooking for her family and helping run her mother’s catering business, which educated her in the preparation of traditional Brazilian, Italian and Portuguese cuisine. Pellegrino attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City and graduated with honors. She has been featured on the “Today Show”, “The Early Show” and “Throwdown with Bobby Flay.”
