Las Vegas (July 11, 2013) – United Way of Southern Nevada has a long standing relationship with Southern Nevada Community Organizations Active for Disaster (COAD), the entity responsible for coordinating planning efforts and emergency management issues among various community organizations.
COAD coordinates planning, response, and recovery efforts by many organizations responding to disaster. Member organizations provide more effective response with less duplication. This collaboration has proven to be the most effective way for a wide variety of volunteers and organizations to work together in a crisis.
As the situation at Mt. Charleston continues, please check United Way’s website for up to date news on the situation and to sign up for any possible future volunteer opportunities.
By signing up, volunteers will receive updates on the progress and status of possible volunteer opportunities. At this time, experts have not identified any specific needs for volunteers however this could change in the near future.
