LAS VEGAS (October, 18, 2013) — The Venetian and Palazzo Las Vegas are excited to be partnering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for Boots and Booties, a military baby shower supporting local military families. This shower, the largest in the country for 2013, will help support 210 Southern Nevada Military families of all branches of service. Many of these families have their husbands deployed or are active duty service women.
The event, which will help military expecting mothers and their families receive the items needed when caring for their newborns, will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 2:30pm in the Palazzo Ballroom.
“There is a need for baby shower support here in the Las Vegas valley for expecting local military families,” said Jody Shervanick, Boots and Booties baby shower coordinator. “New motherhood is challenging enough under ideal circumstances, dealing with deployments, injuries, moves across the country and being far from friends and families is difficult. To have the opporunity to support and lift up these mothers is just fantastic. It helps ensure moms have what they need, and reassures deployed dads that their loved ones are cared for so that they can focus on their mission.”
“On behalf of the team members of The Venetian and The Palazzo, we are thrilled to be a part of this exciting milestone for military families,” said John Caparella, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo.
