The revitalization of Downtown continues with celebrity chef Kerry Simon’s Carson Kitchen located in the redeveloped John E. Carson Hotel, now a hub of restaurants and retail shops. The industrial décor and open kitchen with counter seating and tables in close quarters captures the feel more of downtown New York than Las Vegas.
Chef Simon continues offering yummy but obscure items on the menu such as fried chicken skins served with smoked honey and bacon jam served on top of baked brie with toasted baguette slices. Choices labeled as between bread include Jerk Turkey Burger with mango chutney and slaw. Flatbreads, salads and entrees, all with Chef Simon’s unique twist, including Rabbit Ragu, Cocoa-Espresso NY Strip Steak and Black Rice & Oxtail Risotto. Desserts are just as decadent with Bourbon Fudge Brownie, Glazed Donut Bread Pudding and Not Your Father’s Twinkies.
