Nevada may seem like a strange place to have vineyards, but there are two wineries with tastings and one with a restaurant on the property.
Pahrump Valley Winery has been around 20 years with owners Bill and Gretchen Loken. The winery produces award-winning wines from grapes grown from its own vineyard as well as distributing other wines under its own label. Wine tastings and tours are offered and Symphony’s Restaurant designed to be an “upscale casual” restaurant named after the Loken’s gold medal winning wine of the same name. While the restaurant features white linen, stemware and china along with its wonderful wine offering, guests are encouraged to dress comfortably and dine luxuriously.
The Sanders Family Winery was established in 1988 when owner Jack Sanders founded the first winery in Pahrump. The Sanders family has been growing grapes in Pahrump for nearly three decades and with their Tuscan style winery, visitors center and performing arts amphitheater. Tastings are offered along with a chance to experience real Nevada history.
Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino, 3 Diamond AAA rated hotel, features newly remodeled guest rooms with free wireless, plasma televisions and non-smoking rooms with golf packages available. Stockman’s Steakhouse in the hotel is a classic American steakhouse with a modern twist. With a hometown feel, excellent service, beautiful presentation, an eclectic wine list and signature cocktails; the main course is USDA choice (or higher) steaks. But there is also seafood, chicken, pasta and lamb with sides and desserts.
While Pahrump might be an hour’s drive, it is a world away from Las Vegas. For more info, visit pahrumpnv.org.
