Bank of America will join youth literacy nonprofit Spread the Word Nevada to commemorate the nonprofit’s 30th local school adoption. This milestone opening is made possible by Bank of America’s $200,000 Neighborhood Builders grant, which was awarded on February 10. The grant is given to high-performing nonprofits across the nation that have made a significant impact addressing needs related to community development, critical needs or workforce development and education.

With the grant funding, Spread the Word Nevada will continue reaching new schools and will soon extend its reading program into the summer months for the very first time.

The event will feature remarks from Bank of America and Spread the Word Nevada, a community play featuring Bank of America’s Nevada President George W. Smith with students. Immediately following the ceremony, students will have the opportunity to select books to take home and build their home libraries.
