Why did you enter the field of dentistry?
When I was little, my older siblings were in medical school and I thought it was so neat that they were becoming doctors. Naturally, I wanted to be a doctor and help people, too. After I visited my best friend who was in dental school, and upon learning more about dentistry, I became fascinated and knew I had found my calling. As a dentist, I help people feel better, and be healthy, and I get to make them smile.
Why did you enter the field of cosmetic dentistry?
I appreciate cosmetic dentistry for its ability to enhance and create beautiful, attractive smiles that patients are proud to show off. There is nothing more rewarding than giving a person who used to never smile, or covered his mouth to laugh, a renewed self-confidence from simply correcting, aligning or replacing teeth. I love the challenge and uniqueness that comes from each individual case, too. Though the treatment might differ, the end result is always the same—beautiful smiles and a restored self-confidence.

What are some of the latest treatments available for cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry has come a long way in the past ten years with improvements in dental materials, bonding agents, veneers and clear aligning techniques. I think one of the best new treatments is the placing of veneers. Veneers assist in perfecting a smile painlessly and in a relatively short amount of time. They completely cover any misshapen, discolored or crooked teeth and leave patients with a beautiful smile.
What should a person look for when selecting a dentist?
Being clinically sound is a must, but I believe a great dentist is more than that; people should look for someone that they trust, who meets patients in the middle to break down barriers that may exist, like anxiety or financial obstacles. I am devoted to my rapport with my patients because I know that with a mutually respectful relationship, comes honest and open communication, which allows me to better treat my patients and keep them happy and healthy.
