Somebody’s Having a Baby!

Tammy GrabelHappy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.

The holidays are upon us and amongst all religions there’s a common thread that runs through this time of year: family. This is a time of year we take a break from the hustle and bustle to make an overdue effort to bring our families together for turkey, gift giving and conversation. This year, family has taken a whole new meaning for my husband and I. We are overjoyed to announce that we are pregnant with our first child!

This is truly a miracle, as it was unlikely for me to become pregnant. My body was challenged with premature ovarian failure (laymen terms: premature menopause). From what I understand, we had less than a 5 percent chance of getting pregnant on our own. We decided to look for professional medical help us start our family.

With that said, my husband and I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Shapiro of The Fertility Center of Las Vegas. Dr. Shapiro made a miracle happen and we are due to deliver our bundle of joy in the spring of 2015. I will keep you posted through Las Vegas Woman magazine and social media, @TammyGrabel, of my progress and share with you my fertility treatment experiences. I had written off the possibility of having a baby until we met with Dr. Shapiro. This was a reminder to me to never lose hope! There’s always a miracle around the corner if you are open to it and make an effort to go after your dreams. Before I sign off, I want to thank my loving husband, Seth Grabel, who has been so supportive and patient throughout this process. He has been right by my side through the fertility treatments and the first trimester whoas. Thank you for being with me through the ups and downs… and ups. love you.
