Here are some excellent reasons to start a healthier lifestyle today:
1. It works as an antidepressant.
I am not suggesting stopping any prescribed medication, including antidepressants, without speaking to a physician, but many who exercise show improvement in their symptoms without the medication.
2. It reduces PMS symptoms.
What woman doesn’t want that? With exercise, there are fewer symptoms of moodiness, anger and overall better feelings.
3. It reduces stress and anxiety.
Working out is the No. 1 fastest way to clear cortisol, the stress hormone, out of your system and calm a frantic mind. Ice cream or other comfort foods won’t make much of a dent in stress levels (not that we have anything against a scoop of Chunky Monkey for those who can tolerate dairy).
4. It boosts creativity.
Try a quick stroll around the block. Walking improves both convergent and divergent thinking, the two types associated with enhanced creativity.
These are just some of the reasons that come to my mind. Once you get into the habit of a healthy routine, you will be able to see and experience the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
