Is there a certain age when someone cannot be treated using Orthodontics?
I believe if someone is motivated to achieve a better smile, then age is not a factor. My oldest patient was 65 years old. With age we must be conscious of the health of the gums and teeth, but orthodontics still offers tremendous benefits. Straight teeth are cleaner and healthier than crooked teeth, and a beautiful smile can greatly bolster one’s self-esteem.
What is new in the practice of Orthodontics?
Invisalign is a newer technique that offers excellent esthetics and great results, even in complex cases. To be a good candidate, a patient must follow a strict regimen of wearing their aligners, since good compliance will dictate the success of the treatment. Invisalign is a great alternative for patients who want treatment but don’t want braces. Our office also has an iTero 3D Digital Scanner, which allows us to replace dental impressions with a comfortable and easy scan. This is among the newest technology in the field of orthodontics.
Is there a difference between men and women and dental health?
Issues with gums can occur in women due to pregnancy. As a mother, I can also see how women will take care of their families’ dental health before their own. I want to remind women that it’s important to take care of themselves. Doing so is necessary to stay strong and healthy in order to care for your family.
What makes your team so special?
My team is special because they care so much about our patients and the practice. We share the vision to provide quality care for the patients in a fun and friendly environment. Together, we work towards making each patient feel comfortable, and we strive to treat every patient like a part of our family.
What do you enjoy most about Orthodontics?
Being an orthodontist has been a wonderful experience. It is most rewarding to watch my patients change as their smile transforms. I have seen shy and reserved patients blossom into exciting and vibrant people, eager to share their smile with everyone. We often take for granted the power of a smile, but a smile is truly the universal welcome. My goal is to give my patients a beautiful and healthy smile that they can be proud of. I believe with that, they have the power to go out and conquer the world.
