1. Walk us through a typical day in your shoes.
My day depends on what project I will work on. Because I love mornings, my day begins fairly early, usually around 7 a.m. There’s coffee and “The Today Show.” My wife, Christine, is not a morning person. She will make her appearance an hour or so later. I have to be very quiet until she has finished her first cup of coffee. Then we coordinate our day. I love projects and working with my hands. Some days I do things that pertain to show business, music and my performance. On other days, I may go to Home Depot for supplies I need to repair something around the house. I may meet a friend for lunch or shop at the Guitar Center. Christine and I almost always have dinner together and later catch up on some of our favorite TV shows, in what is known as the Man Cave. There’s usually lots of popcorn and cabernet. Then sleep comes easily!
  2. Have you ever purchased any As Seen on TV items?
I used to buy everything I saw on TV and then I found out there was a store for just the things I’ve seen on TV. I had to cut myself off. The most recent item I bought is the hose that shrinks. I couldn’t help it; I bought two of them! I’m quirky in that I buy something but don’t use it immediately. I like to just have them around awhile. I still haven’t used those hoses.
  3. If you could destroy a grade-school photo of yourself, what year would it be and why?
That would be second or third grade. I was missing some teeth; it was not a good time for me.
  4. While grocery shopping, what is your stick-in-the-cart-when-no-one-is-looking item?
That would be anything that contains carbs: bagels, doughnuts, chocolate chip cookies.
  5. If we were to look through your iPod or iPhone, what is on your hit list or playlist or favorite app?
My musical tastes vary. I’m from Missouri and grew up listening to my father sing gospel and country music. But I’m also a product of the Beatles, Motown, James Brown and Tom Jones. My kids bring me mp3s of new songs and, many times, I go to my library and pull up the original recording that the sample came from. I love Earth, Wind and Fire and Bruno Mars.
  6. Do you ever play “tourist” in Vegas? If so, what is your favorite thing to do?
I make it a point to attend as many of the shows here as possible. Many of my friends are either headliners or performing in shows; we all have to support each other.
  7. What do you do to unwind and relax?
I love my music, whether it’s playing the guitar or simply listening to it. I also love to play Ping-Pong. It takes my mind off everything and I just enjoy it, and making fun of the person on the other side of the table.
  8. Does anyone ever mistake you for someone else?
Yes, Tony Bennett! Just kidding! No, I don’t have that happen. I’ve had people tell me they’ve seen me before, but can’t remember where. I jokingly say, maybe the post office?
