Dr. Haydee Docasar, Board Certified Obstetrics & Gynecology, became the first Thermi Certified Specialist in Las Vegas and one of the OB-GYN surgeons performing the top non-surgical treatment 1of 2016 in Southern Nevada, ThermiVa, for vaginal and bladder rejuvenation. In 2017, she plans on continuing this transforming treatment as well helping women in other areas such as skin tightening and cellulite reduction.
She is in private practice at Haydee Docasar, RejuVAnation and an integral member of the Laser Body Sculpting Institute. She is also the medical director for Flawless skin care clinic.
Another area of her practice is hormone balancing especially with the bio identical hormones and basic gynecological care. She educates patients about the role hormones have in a woman’s health. “I use bio-identical HRT. I see women’s lives changed once their hormones are balanced. HRT can restore a woman’s quality of life,” she explained.
Patients come to be treated for female related problems caused by aging, childbirth and gravity including vaginal laxity, sagging labia, painful intercourse due to lack of vaginal moisture or lubrication, reduced nerve sensation resulting in less sexual satisfaction, urinary incontinence or the need to urinate frequently.
Her search for effective, safe and non-surgical methods of treatment for these disorders included using ThermiVa. This procedure produces results, which are immediately apparent, with little risk, no pain and no recovery downtime. The ThermiVa treatment is non-surgical and is performed in office.
As her patients get older and since her practice is such an integral part of her life, Dr. Docasar can identify with this age group and wants to help. “I have made changes in my practice as I got older. The majority of my patients are in their 30s and older,” she said.
Dr. Docasar always knew she wanted to become a doctor when she witnessed a baby being born, and she planned on her medical field as an OB/GYN since the age of 12.
She also worked with pregnant teenagers at the beginning of her career. She obtained a degree in psychology with a focus on family & women’s health. She went on to complete medical school at Howard University in Washington, D.C. and graduated from her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
She also served in the Navy at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Her experiences have encompassed academic medicine, military medicine and organized medicine with Kaiser Permanente before going into the private sector of medicine with her own private practices.
Throughout her career, Dr. Docasar has been an advocate of women’s healthcare. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus has honored her for her involvement in raising awareness in Latino healthcare and she is a member of Who’s Who Latinos. She also served three years on the Admiral’s Naval National Domestic Violence Committee. Dr. Docasar has given numerous lectures on women’s healthcare topics as well as academic medicine.
She has been an attending teaching staff member at the Washington Hospital Center, Bethesda National Medical Center, University Armed Services College and Touro University. Dr. Docasar is a member of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Gynecological Cosmetic Surgeons and is a fellow in the American College of Cosmetic Surgeons. Other areas of interest to Dr. Docasar include hormonal therapy, infertility evaluations, teenage education and expert witness work.
“What is exciting for me is that today we can offer more choices and alternatives than even 10 years ago. Women just settled when their bodies changed. But with technology and advances in medical treatments, there is so much more out there and I am thrilled to be a part of it,” Dr. Docasar stated. In 2017, she will continue to help women to improve their quality of life.
