The goals of the local affiliate for the National Association of Women Business Owners, NAWBO Southern Nevada, is to educate, empower and promote women business owners to experience success in all economic, political and social arenas. During one morning event, three successful women offered their expertise in the various facets of promoting a business. The panel included Ruth Furman, Image Words; Nina Radetich, Radetich Marketing + Media and Danielle Ford, creative video marketing strategist.
Furman, founder and CEO of Image Words, spoke about public relations in an age of social media. She has a background in news reporting and over 20 years experience in public relations.
As Furman explained, there are different types of PR including digital (online press releases), paid and non-paid options, traditional, editorial, submitting press releases/listings to media outlets and pitching story ideas about the company, person, product or service to media outlets. Journalists also contact PR people and firms to find people and businesses to write about.
She shared her favorite no-cost or low cost tools to get the word out in the media. Furman instructed about The IMPACT Test to be effective in public relations and submitting a story or pitch to the media.
Radetich, founder and owner of Radetich Marketing + Media brings a 20-year-career as broadcast journalist who transitioned to social media marketing in 2012. She expanded to full digital in 2016 and is a Certified Duct Tape Marketing Consultant.
Duct Tape Marketing, created by John Jantsch, is about installing a marketing system for clarity, control, confidence and customers. It combines strategy, content, hourglass (know, trust, like), lead generation, lead conversion, planning and project implementation.
She emphasized strategy before tactics with a business vision including a 17-spoke plan for success. Radetich encouraged action items with a plan.
Ford, creative video marketing strategist, informed about creating ways to get paid usingh video, especially YouTube. Millennials have created YouTube stars and channels that receive thousand, if not millions, of views. Customers and clients are now influenced by video and people who in those videos.
She offers services such as social media content marketing strategy, live streaming for profit, 10 Steps for YouTube Marketing, List building with videos, appearing confident on camera and 5 types of videos anyone’s website needs to post.
As stated, “adding video to landing page in sales funnel increases conversions by 80 percent.” A sales funnel is an automated system that leads to sales. Ford offers a Sales Funnel for free on her website.
Ford, a mother of two, started her career posting videos about her favorite subjects and the business grew. She realized she really loved and understood this medium and her company has expanded to cover national markets. She is also the founder of the Young Moms Club.
