Lynsey Freeman expresses her passion for finance and financial education in her actions. Whether meeting with clients, volunteering, playing sports or hosting speaking engagements; she has a mission to help her community. As a financial advisor and managing associate with WestPac Wealth Partners, she assists others through her knowledge, expertise and experience.“I help people make smart financial decisions,” she explained. “My clients often view me as the Chief Financial Officer of their life. The world of finance is more complex than ever; rapidly changing and evolving. I have a strong conviction for education around finance. I know that, for my clients, more knowledge leads to better decision making with a higher level of confidence.”
In a management role at WestPac, she also leads a team of advisors, which Freeman admits is one of her favorite aspects of her career. Being heavily involved in sports growing up is what instilled in her the passion of teamwork and leadership.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, when she was asked in middle school what she wanted to do, “I would tell them I wanted to either be a stockbroker or professional athlete.” When Freeman graduated from Bishop Gorman High School, athletics was in her future when she received a basketball scholarship to attend and play at the University of Texas, San Antonio.
During her freshman year, she quickly became a standout on the basketball team while taking courses with goal of a business degree. But just before starting her sophomore year, her father passed way suddenly. Despite her father’s career as a CPA, her family discovered that their estate planning was not sound. Freeman chose to move back home to be closer to her family.
Freeman did obtain her bachelor’s of science in business finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After college, remembering her dream of becoming a stockbroker, Freeman started to research career choices and discovered financial planning. “A light bulb went off for me and I realized that if my parents had just worked closely with a financial advisor, my family could have avoided a lot of financial hardship and how that impacted our lives.”
Giving back to the community, she is a member of Junior League of Las Vegas and Women With Drive, which encourages more women to connect with each other through the game of golf. Freeman also plays in the Las Vegas Women’s Basketball League as well as volunteers for the Boys and Girls Club and St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research.
Her family is what’s most important to her. She spends time with her twin sister, Ashley, their mother and aunt, who are also twins. “The four of us are best friends. I have always set high expectations for myself and my family instilled that in me. I’m so grateful for them.”
WestPac is quickly becoming the go-to wealth strategy firm in Las Vegas. “Our office has so much energy. We, as a firm, have so much passion for what we do. We have a common purpose and mission to make a positive impact on the lives around us.”
