With Las Vegas being the one of the top destinations for international visitors, it is fitting that two global citizens bring world cuisine to their restaurants.
Bonjour Bakery and Deli was originally Bonjour Euro Bakery featuring authentic French delights for almost three decades. After a number of owners, Kristin Forsberg bought it and has added breakfast and lunch items to delectable pastries combining American, French and Korean cuisines. Menu choices also include vegan, organic and all natural foods as well as organic coffees and teas.
While she had no background in the restaurant industry, Forsberg was ready to take on a new challenge and make a dramatic change in her life. Her staff is all female with a French pastry chef and a Midwest baker.
“I take such pride in everything we serve,” she said. “I love working with my chef and baker and together we create magic. Women rock!”
Her own backstory showcases her passion for life. Forsberg started life in South Korea as an orphan. She was adopted by Swedish parents at the age of 3 and was raised in Sweden. Educated in computer sciences, Forsberg explored the world until a major Las Vegas Strip resort recruited her 10 years ago. Along with her Swedish husband, they took the plunge and now call Southern Nevada home.
Atmosphere is just as important to Forsberg who makes certain to greet customers when she is the shop, making them her friend. The décor is a sidewalk café with a mix of music from around the world playing in the background. Forsberg is thrilled to continue the tradition of Bonjour Bakery with her own influences.
