North Beach Italian Bistro offers high-end, superior Italian food at an affordable price in a relaxing, yet elegant atmosphere.

After owner Ozzie Montano shut down his first location, the desire to reopen remained a goal. “I started North Beach Café in 1993, during the heyday of who’s who in Las Vegas, I then closed the restaurant, but years later had the opportunity to open a place just a few blocks from my home,” said Montano.

On April 17, 2014, the new North Beach Italian Bistro opened adjacent to Bogey’s Bar and Grill in the Northwest part of Las Vegas. The menu remained the same, as North Beach is known for its signature dishes of cioppino, chicken marsala and osso buco, but Montano knows that it takes more than a solid menu to remain successful.

“What makes us successful is that we offer good food, good service and have clean bathrooms,” says Montano matter of factly. Good service is an understatement, as Montano himself makes his way around the restaurant to ensure that every guest is happy with their experience.

The dining room is filled with original artwork by Montano’s cousin Aldo Luongo, and an intriguing 500-gallon aquarium that speaks to the family-friendly atmosphere of the restaurant.

Chef Leonardo prepares the dishes that include several antipasti (appetizers), a selection of soups and salads, pasta offerings such as penne alla vodka, linguine with shrimp and mushrooms, fettuccine carbonara and more.

Aside from the signature dishes, main courses include lobster ravioli, shrimp scampi over pappardelle, pizzas, ribeye steak and traditional Italian desserts. While they do not have a specific kids’ menu, they do offer smaller portions, along with other kid-friendly favorites.

The bar offers weekly specialty cocktails made from seasonal fruits, along with an abundant wine list featuring wines from various regions of the world.

A unique factor to North Beach Italian Bistro is the attached Bogey’s Bar and Grill, which patrons can visit before or after dinner for a cocktail, to catch a game or enjoy some video gaming machines. The restaurant fulfills menu offerings at the bar. “That gives our bar patrons more options than your average bar food. They can order fresh salads, chicken Parmesan, lasagna, and more,” said Bogey’s manager, John Vece.

North Beach Italian Bistro also offers a beautiful outdoor event space for private parties of all kinds with an extensive catering menu.

Named the Best Italian Food off the Strip, North Beach Bistro is worth the visit. As Montano says, and is evident when you walk in the door, “We think with our hearts, not with our pockets.”
