Phantom Chardonnay

While winter is typically the season for hearty red wines, there are plenty of full-bodied whites that are well suited for this time of year. Phantom Chardonnay, the newest line extension from the popular Phantom Red Blend, has aromas of toasty oak, baked apple pie and spiced pear. The palate is rich and velvety with flavors of caramel apple, crème brûlée, buttery notes and spicy oak. Anyone who likes big, oaky, buttery chardonnays; this wine is for you. Pair with lobster bisque, chicken pot pie, crab cakes, or macaroni and cheese.

Phantom Red Blend

An annual favorite that arrives during the cooler months, but usually disappears by summertime. This distinctive red blend combines petite sirah, zinfandel, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Intense aromas of wild berries and black pepper lead to a concentrated palate of jammy fruit, mocha, cloves and toasted oak. The finish seems to last forever; but once the bottle is open, it always disappears quickly. Stock up now before it’s gone.

Orin Swift 8 Years in the Desert, Red Blend

The highly anticipated wine from Dave Phinney has arrived. The name represents the eight-year hiatus he took from making zinfandel when he sold his popular brand, “The Prisoner.” Now free to produce a zinfandel blend under the Orin Swift label, Phinney pays homage to his “time in the desert” with this incredible wine. Aromas of wild raspberry, fig and peppercorn are followed by lush flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, hints of earth and espresso bean. The finish is bold with chewy tannins, dense fruit and complex layers. It’s been a long eight years, but definitely worth the wait.

Apothic Inferno
This limited release red blend from Apothic is always a favorite this time of year. Inferno is aged four to six months in oak before spending an additional 60 days in whiskey barrels. The result is a truly unique wine, revealing layers of dark berry fruit, toffee, spice and smoky maple notes. Apothic Inferno offers bold flavors, rich character and a long smooth finish. It may be cold outside, but this fiery red is guaranteed to keep you warm.
