By the time you are reading this, I will have delivered my first baby, Grace Jenny Grabel. According to all my family, friends and random strangers, “my whole life is about to change.” In the magazine world, it’s all about deadlines, and while I am writing this, we are at deadline now for this issue.
Almost 10 years ago, I was skydiving for my birthday. Now, after having my daughter last year, I’m all about safety and wouldn’t think of jumping out of a plane. I’ve become overly concerned with my health. I want to be around for her to see her though her school years, marriage and beyond.
We are excited to debut a new look in this issue of Las Vegas Woman Magazine. Our artists at 702West designs have outdone themselves. Kudos, kudos, kudos!
We are looking forward to this year’s theme: “Brand Yourself.” We will focus on how we show up: physically, mentally, spiritually and in many other ways.
Welcome to the winter issue of Las Vegas Woman magazine. This issue celebrates the year we’ve had and excitedly welcomes the year ahead.
The holidays are upon us and amongst all religions there’s a common thread that runs through this time of year: family.
Grace Jenny Grabel was born on May 1, 2015 (5/1/15) at 5 p.m. on the dot. We had decided her name to be Grace long before she was born. While in the hospital, we received a Facebook message that said to Google the meaning of 5. We did just that, and what we found gave me chills. The meaning of 5 symbolizes “grace.”
>Last issue, we introduced a new feature, People to Watch, that instantly became a favorite with our readers. These are mentors, teachers and locals right in our community that fit a wide spectrum of demographics. From individuals at the bright start of their career to well-seasoned professionals, there was something for anyone reading to feel inspired. We’ve extended our People to Watch feature to this issue with more interesting locals to read about.
May 1 was my daughter Grace’s first birthday. That was the longest and fastest year of my life! As publisher of Las Vegas Woman magazine, I chose not be to a stay-at-home mother. However, Grace and I have managed to spend every day together in her first year. Where there is a will, there is a way.
