The Taste of Vegetarian: Ronald’s Donuts and Veggie Delight

As for either breakfast or dessert, just down the street from Veggie Delight is Ronald’s Donuts, the only vegan donuts in Las Vegas. They offer every kind of donut, more than 75 percent of the selection is vegan (made without eggs, milk or lard). This includes customers’ favorites like maple bars, apple fritters, honey-glazed, sugar-coated, chocolate, maple, cinnamon bun, soy cream-filled pastry and apple twist. Be warned, sugar is used in some of the donuts. The vegan donuts are kept on separate shelves from the non-vegan varieties.
The hours are Monday to Friday from 4 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday 5 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday 5 a.m.-2 p.m. and the business only accepts cash.

In the center of Chinatown, a Buddhist named Iris Lee owns and operates Veggie Delight, an enclave for those craving fruit smoothies, juiced vegetables and fruits, a myriad of teas and a wide selection of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes including soups, tofu, mock meat entrees, appetizers, noodles, and sandwiches on mini French baguettes. No meat, poultry or fish products are ever used in the recipes and vegan items offered contain no egg or dairy products. All selections on the menu can be ordered either vegetarian or vegan. Lee believes in shopping locally for the freshest fruits and vegetables, constantly creating new menu items and staying involved in the Las Vegas community.
