9:30 — 10:30: Countries of Origin tasting Session – Join us as we sample multiple teas from China, Japan and India. We will discuss the differences in growing conditions, harvesting, manufacturing and flavors.
10:45 — 11:45: Cooking with Tea – Executive Chef Beni Velasquez, of Bar + Bistro, will entice our senses and likely make us drool as he shows simple ways to incorporate tea as a broth, spice, marinade and more!
1:00 — 1:45: Wu Wo Tea Ceremony – A tea ceremony for the masses! No matter your age, sex, financial standing, tea knowledge…all are welcome to participate.
1:45 — 2:15: Sip + Sample: Tea & Chocolate
2:15 — 2:45: Sip + Sample: Tea & Cheese
3:00 — 4:00: Golden Leaf Challenge – The coveted Golden Leaf Award is given to chefs/restaurants/bakeries that achieve excellence in the execution of using tea as a primary ingredient in their culinary creations.
4:00: Silent Auction/Raffle – We are very proud to have partnered with Studio8Ten, a non-profit art studio and gift shop providing creative, business-based employment to people with disabilities. We will host a silent auction and raffle with proceeds going to support the mission of this amazing organization!
5:30: Tea Cuisine with Chef Beni – We are ecstatic that Executive Chef Beni Velasquez, of Bar + Bistro, has agreed to wow us with a tea filled, tea centered, four-course dinner. Every aspect of the meal, including ingredients, will revolve around tea. (**Please note that tickets are sold separately for this event.)
