Join Comedy-Magician and Harrah’s Headliner Mac King this February as he embarks on Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour: Nevada Reading Week 2013, benefiting Clark County READS, the literacy initiative of The Public Education Foundation. The tour kicks off Feb. 15 with a book drive held at the Las Vegas Wranglers home game and continues at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park Feb. 18 – 28. Donate three or more new or gently used children’s books to receive a pair of tickets to The Mac King Comedy Magic Show and special offers from the host venue. King will personally deliver the books to kids in at-risk schools on Feb. 27 – Mar. 1, during Nevada Reading Week 2013.
“To everyone who has supported my book drive in the past, I’d like to give a mighty big thanks. With your support, we’ve put more than 5,000 books straight in the hands of kids in at-risk schools in Las Vegas. There are always more lives to touch and more work to be done, so please join me once again as we work together to enrich the lives of even more children by continuing to provide them with a good book to read,” said King.
Las Vegas Wranglers Book Drive – Friday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.
The Las Vegas Wranglers hockey team will host a book drive during the home game, on Friday, Feb. 15 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Orleans Arena. Anyone who donates three or more new or gently used children’s books will receive a pair of tickets to the Mac King Comedy Magic Show and will be entered into a raffle to win autographed Las Vegas Wranglers merchandise (Limit one pair of show tickets and one raffle ticket per person. Must be present to win. Winners will be announced towards the end of the game).
Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park Book Drive – Feb. 18-28
Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park has joined forces with Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour and will collect books from Feb. 18-28. Donate three or more new or gently used children’s books at this location to receive a pair of tickets to the Mac King Comedy Magic Show and a one hour free jump pass to Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park (Limit one per person. Jump pass may be used on the same day, subject to availability of jump time).
Nevada Reading Week 2013
For three days beginning Feb. 27- March 1, during Nevada Reading Week, King will make appearances at three local elementary schools to teach the importance of reading. During the tour’s scheduled stops King will perform tricks from his show and read a few short stories. Each student at the schools King visits will receive a book from The Public Education Foundation’s Clark County READS initiative. Books for two of the three schools will be provided through the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) program. Clark County READS is the RIF affiliate for Southern Nevada. Additionally, King will personally deliver books collected from the book drives which will be donated to teachers’ classroom libraries.

About Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour:
Comedy-Magician Mac King has been a life-long advocate for childhood literacy and since settling down in Las Vegas, has made it his mission to promote literacy in Southern Nevada.
For years King has visited local elementary schools, spreading the importance of literacy to local students.
