Evening will Feature First Look at 2014 Celebration of Life Sculpture Collection

LAS VEGAS – The St. Jude Las Vegas Local Chapter is pleased to announce it will hold its 2014 Gala, An Affair of the Art, on Saturday, May 3 at 6 p.m. at the Smith Center located at 361 Symphony Park Avenue to support the efforts of St. Jude in the fight against childhood cancer and other deadly diseases.

The 5th Annual Las Vegas Honors St. Jude: An Affair of the Art black tie gala has become one of Las Vegas’ top yearly events drawing supporters and philanthropists from around the community. This year’s honorees are Tammy and Evan Ahern. The evening will feature hosted cocktails, a gourmet dinner, star-studded entertainment, special appearances, sophisticated silent and live auctions, and a collection of custom artwork by renowned artists such as Michael Godard and 2014 Honorary Artist Vladimir Kush.

A highlight of the event is the phenomenal art exhibit featuring three-dimensional, five-foot tall “Celebration of Life” sculptures created by local artist Dorit Schwartz and each painted by professional local artists. The artists give “life” through their one-of-a-kind vision. Once these sculptures are enjoyed for the first time at the social event, these unique creations will then be exhibited in an interactive way throughout the streets of Las Vegas.

“The business community, celebrities, and Las Vegas as a whole are showing their support by generously sponsoring these sculptures, helping play a major role in creating awareness for St. Jude and its mission of finding cures and saving children,” said Tanya Amid, St. Jude Local Las Vegas Chapter Chair. “The citizens of Las Vegas and the millions of tourists that visit the city will be able to enjoy an outstanding artwork exhibition that benefits the children of St Jude.”

Individual gala tickets are limited and are $250. Tables are also available as are sponsorship opportunities.
