Summer is winding down with temperatures ranging in the warm double digits. After the monsoon season; the skies are blue and the water is calling. It is the perfect time for a different kind of adventure. Callville Bay Resort & Marina at Lake Mead is conveniently located about an hour’s drive from Las Vegas. Once there, over 550 miles of natural shoreline, soaring red rock cliffs, as well as countless bays and beaches, beckons exploration.
Plan a day trip or spend the night in a houseboat, RV park or camp under the stars while enjoying activities on the water or hiking its shoreline.
For a day party, a Patio Pontoon is a great way to relax and have fun for a full day on the lake. Think of it as a private, floating cabana with the comforts of home. The patio pontoon boat comes equipped with a wet bar, spacious 360-foot top-level sundeck and waterslide—all guaranteeing sun-soaked fun throughout the day. A barbecue grill and wet bar makes mealtime satisfying and easy, while an accessible bathroom with running hot water and shower help keep everyone comfortable.
For overnight stays, check out houseboating. These floating spaces offer dozens of amenities including private staterooms, waterslide, front deck barbecue grill and spacious, climate-controlled living areas. Some houseboat models also offer satellite TV and top-deck hot tubs. Activities while staying on the houseboat include swimming, diving and fishing as well as exploring coves and hike sandy beaches.
For those who enjoy RV camping, the RV Park at Callville Bay Resort & Marina is a perfect location to enjoy the lake and its recreational activities. Five full hook-up spaces are available for rental in Trailer Village.
RVs, trailers and tents are welcome at the Callville Bay campground, operated and maintained by the National Park Service. There are 80 sites with restrooms, running water, dump stations, grills, picnic tables and shade. The campground is open all year around with sites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there is fishing, wakeboarding or tubing on Lake Mead. Callville Bay also rents deck cruisers, fishing boats, ski boats, personal watercraft and water toys.
